Paved/gravel, 17km, 1 hr., hybrid

Rigorous but spectacular

Park at the Recreation Centre on #6. Follow #6 south, approximately 2 km, to Morphet’s sideroad. Be conscious that #6 is a very busy highway and that there are no paved shoulders yet on this section of #6.

Turn right on Morphet’s sideroad. Before long you will arrive at a series of very challenging hills. At the top, the road T’s with McLean’s Mountain Rd. Turn right to a lookout offering a splendid view of the LaCloche Mountains, then cycle south past a series of industrial wind turbines and have a great workout cycling on this road surrounded by soft, prairie-like grasslands. When you reach the Greenbush Rd., turn left again. Note the snake rail fences and sturdy old barns that mark the way along the Greenbush Rd., as you cycle back to #6.

When you arrive back at #6, one of the best views of the ancient peaks of the LaCloche Mountains awaits you at the lookout. Head north on #6, glide down a delightful, big hill and make your way back to Little Current. Take time to wander the waterfront and enjoy the yachts, sailboats, shops and eateries.
